Congratulations to our customer, SELCRA (Southeastern Livingston County Recreation Authority) and its director, Derek Smith, for winning two awards at the MRPA (Michigan Recreation and Park Association) Conference and Tradeshow this week! MRPA awards exemplary parks and recreation professionals and organizations who inspire others and fulfill the core values of the profession.
MRPA Design Award (SELRCA.com): This award is given to the organization that demonstrates its website as “a critical way to communicate with residents and nonresidents alike. How well they function in serving a community is of utmost importance.” The judging criteria consisted of four categories: site functionality, ease of use, design, and content.On July 1, 2011 SELCRA launched its new ACM (Active Content Manager) website with slide shows, videos, pictures, calendars, newsletters, volunteer information, online registration and more.
Recreation Leadership Award (Derek Smith, CPRP): The Recreation Leadership Award is presented to a member for outstanding contributions and leadership in recreation programming and administration. As said in the SELCRA press release, "MRPA individual awards are the highest honor the association presents; the awards honor the highest performance of an MRPA member or advocate of the parks and recreation profession."Derek Smith is a certified parks and recreation professional (CPRP) with over thirteen years of experience. Derek is the SELCRA director, an active member on several MRPA boards, a regional player representative for the national Amateur Softball Association (ASA), and more.Congratulations to Derek and SELCRA for the outstanding awards!
