We’re back from the 2014 National Ski Areas Association (NSAA) Winter Conferences with a fresh perspective on the rapidly changing needs of ski resorts. NSAA represents 325 alpine resorts that account for more than 90 percent of the skier/snowboarder visits nationwide.
ACTIVE Network is a proud sponsor of the NSAA Winter Conferences, and this year, we were excited to present the latest updates to our most recent innovation, RTP|ONE LivePass. LivePass gives resorts and attractions the ability to customize an application that can easily communicate information and reminders to guests on their mobile devices. Several NSAA member resorts, including Park City Mountain and Steamboat Ski & Resort, have already rolled out LivePass for their guests.
During the winter conferences, there was a big emphasis on tools to help enhance guest experiences, from online web presence to rental boot fitting, from ‘learn-to’ programs to greater employee engagement. Increasingly, resorts are committing to making the experience memorable and worth every dollar for visitors.Social media is also being used in a variety of ways to engage guests. During the conference, ACTIVE’s John Collins highlighted the value of using RTP|ONE LivePass as a platform for social engagement strategies. The importance of these strategies was reinforced in a subsequent panel discussion about the evolving landscape of digital marketing where several resort marketers and managers discussed various programs they are using to drive and increase engagement using social media, including special programs and brand development. There’s a great deal of diversity among the strategies that each operation finds successful and an effort to try and iterate is key. At ACTIVE, our place is helping our customers in these efforts by providing flexible technology platforms upon which these activities can be delivered to their guests. For a look at LivePass in action, download the Park City Mountain and Steamboat Ski & Resort apps:
