Pearl Harbor and the USS Arizona were closed this past Saturday, in honor of the 2,000 plus sailors and marines that were killed on December 7, 1941. Pearl Harbor Day is a historic and somber reminder of the attack that drove America into WW II.
Over 1,500,000 visitors travel to Pearl Harbor every year to pay their respects. After entering the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center, visitors can choose from a variety of tours – including the USS Arizona, USS Bowfin Submarine Museum & Park, Battleship Missouri Memorial and the Pacific Aviation Museum.
There is a lot to see at Pearl Harbor and no time to waste standing in long ticketing lines. Today, Pearl Harbor visitors can purchase tickets online through Recreation.gov, a site ACTIVE powers for the National Reservation and Recreation Service.The online ticketing system launched in the Spring of 2012 has increased the convenience when visiting this historic monument by allowing advanced reservations for:
- USS Arizona Memorial tour, including a Navy-operated shuttle boat ride to the USS Arizona Memorial;
- USS Arizona with audio set tour, narrated by actress Jamie Lee Curtis, daughter of actor and Pacific War veteran Tony Curtis; and,
- The Passport to Pearl Harbor, one-day Passport to Pearl Harbor allows you to visit all four Pearl Harbor Historic Sites.
